Our extra-curricular highlights
Lions International Peace Poster Competition
Each year, our Stage 3 students have the wonderful opportunity to take part in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest, a global art initiative that encourages young people to express their visions of peace through creativity. This meaningful experience allows our Year 5 and 6 students to showcase and further develop their artistic abilities while reflecting on important values such as kindness, unity, and understanding.
Great Aussie Bush Camp Overnight Excursion
Our Year 3 and 4 students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. The Great Aussie Bush Camp isn’t just a camp – it’s where epic memories are made, friendships are forged, and the adventure of a lifetime begins.
Wet Weather Play Area
At Minmi Public School, we have an all weather play policy which means students are able to use the playgrounds on rainy days provided they bring a raincoat with a hood and gum boots.
Starstruck
At Minmi Public School, students have the exciting opportunity to be part of our Star Struck Performance Group. Each year, we audition to perform in Star Struck Newcastle – a spectacular showcase of song, dance and drama that brings together schools from across the Hunter and beyond. Being part of Star Struck builds confidence, teamwork, and performance skills, while giving our students the thrill of performing on a professional stage. Families love seeing our students shine, and it’s one of the many ways our school helps students explore their talents and passions.
