Meet Elsie - our school support dog!
She is a resource for all children and staff the help make their time at Minmi Public School even more special.
About Elsie
Elsie is our school wellbeing dog. She addresses student learning and wellbeing needs as evidenced by current research. Benefits of a wellbeing dog can include calming effects, alleviation of effects of depression, reduction in anxiety, increasing social skills and intereactions, building of social behaviours and bonding skills, raising confidence, promoting physical and mental wellbeing.
Elsie's presence motivates students to attend school regularly, increase engagement and focus. Elsie has many super powers including reinforcing the positive behaviour and wonderful culture here at MPS.
Elsie visits our classrooms and is often out on the playground during breaks as well.
